Last week, the estimated coal production in the North Appalachian region was 1.33 million short tons, an increase of 10.2% from the previous week and a decrease of 32.9% from the same period last year. This year's estimated coal output is 33.61 million short tons, annualized output is 76.48 million short tons, a year-on-year decrease of 26.1%.
Last week, the US coal production in the Illinois Basin was estimated at 1.18 million short tons, an increase of 4.9% from the previous week and a decrease of 34.9% from the same period last year. This year's estimated coal output is 31.27 million short tons, and the annualized output is 71.52 million short tons, a year-on-year decrease of 28.2%.
In the first week of June, Wyoming and Montana's estimated coal production from the Powder River Basin was 3.84 million short tons, up 5.9% from the previous week and down 27.4% from the same period last year.
