Russia has increased the volume of new wind capacity planned for 2024 to over 182MW from just under 73MW previously, according to Russian wind industry association RAWI.
RAWI said a government decree last month redistributed capacity that had been planned for small hydro to onshore wind.
Russia has already allocated capacity for construction up to and including 2024 through auctions and so the additional 106.8MW could mean that an unscheduled auction will now take place later this year, the association said.
The additional capacity brings the total planned for up to 2024 to 3383.6MW, RAWI added.
