What Happens to a Nuclear Power Plant During COVID-19?

What happens to a nuclear power plant during a pandemic lockdown? Currently, all 442 nuclear power reactors worldwide are in operation. They continue to provide 10 percent of the world’s electricity and around one-third of its low-carbon electricity. Nuclear power plants can continue operation because of their contingency plans, which include what to do during a global pandemic, such as COVID-19. If there is a concern that not enough staff are fit for duty, nuclear reactors could be pre-emptively shut down and maintained in a stable condition.
