In a wind farm in Marsberg, about 120 kilometers from Essen, the brand new LR 1800-1.0 from Colonia Special Vehicles had its first use. Nearly 70 transport vehicles brought the components for the wind power variant of the machine to the construction site. Four towers of the plant manufacturer Enercon had already been erected by a Liebherr mobile crane LTM 11200-9.1 up to a height of 88 meters and now had to be completed. During the first set-up of its new equipment, the Colonia team was actively supported by three service employees from Ehingen and the Liebherr repair centre in Oberhausen. After just under six days, the LR 1800-1.0 then protruded into the sky with a 171-metre-long main boom and a 12-metre peak.
