Ampelmann Books Asian Offshore Wind Debut

15 Sep 2020  by RE News

Dutch offshore access provider Ampelmann has signed a contract with Seaway 7 to provide one of its A-type systems for offshore wind work in Taiwan.

The contract, which will see a system mobilised on the Seaway Strashnov heavy lift vessel for a job starting next year, is Ampelmann's first for an offshore wind farm in Asia.

Ampelmann said the campaign will see approximately two months of offshore operations supporting the installation of jacket foundations at an unnamed project.

Ampelmann commercial manager for Australia, India, Indonesia and Taiwan Ramesh Namasivayam said: “Ampelmann has a lot of experience in the offshore wind sector in other regions and we are glad to be able to use those experiences to deliver a high quality service to our clients when they are entering new frontiers.

“We will service this project from our office in Singapore. With our local presence, we are closer to the client and the project site allowing us to mobilise swiftly and provide extensive support.”
