Engie through its Electrabel CoGreen unit has commissioned eight new wind farms in Belgium totalling 83MW.
The projects comprise 32 turbines located in Aalst, Eeklo, Ham, Hoogstraten, Kaprijke, Maldegem, Retie and Zeebrugge.
They are also open for citizen participation for a total amount of €3.2m, Engie said.
Local people can subscribe for shares with an individual value of €125 for a maximum of €2500 per person up until 30 October.
Engie said they will join the 2158 members of the cooperative.
Electrabel CoGreen aims for a net return on investment of 3%.
