Norwegian technology company Goodtech has won a contract with Wood for the delivery of a complete SCADA system for Equinor's 88MW Hywind Tampen floating offshore wind farm off Norway.
The contract will include the implementation of Equinor's advanced 'motion control' system that ensures optimal production from the field through continuous adjustment of the turbines in relation to waves and wind.
The work will start immediately and will last until the latter part of 2021, Goodtech said.
It also includes management and monitoring with the expansion of a control room in Bergen.
Goodtech chief executive Eric Staurset said: “We are proud that Wood has chosen Goodtech as a partner to realise an exciting project within the offshore wind area.”
Hywind Tampen will supply electricity to the field operations on the Snorre and Gullfaks oil and gas platforms in the North Sea.
