Wind turbine installation and service company Global Wind Service (GWS) has established a local branch in Taiwan.
GWS has been active in APAC since 2010 and in Taiwan since 2019 and have now established our own branch office in Taipei.
Having a separate branch Taiwan is part of GWS’ growth strategy and an important step for the company to support our partners in the growing Taiwanese offshore market.
GWS is locally represented by our Regional Manager Hans Hansen and the ambition is to develop and grow locally to secure further projects and build a local workforce.
GWS chief commercial officer Lars Petersen said: "The Taiwanese market for offshore wind holds an enormous potential for development and growth, making it the natural next step for GWS.
"Growth has always been and still is an important part of our DNA and we are constantly developing our company to meet the needs of our clients.
"It has long been our ambition to establish ourselves on the Taiwanese market, and we feel that now is the time. The market is picking up and so is the number of projects secured by GWS."
During 2019 and 2020 GWS has already worked on different projects in the country delivering various scopes including wind turbine installation and completion works, secondment of tagline operators, installation supervisors and finally HV competences from Delpro Wind.
GWS branch office is located in the city centre of Taipei, only a 20-minute drive from the Songshan airport.
GWS share facility with the existing Fred Olsen Ocean branch office.
