The Chengdu Institute of PowerChina Group officially signed the purchase contract of the hydroelectric generator set of the Huailanie River Hydropower Station in Laos, becoming the company's second general contract construction project in Laos.
The Wairane River Hydropower Station is located in the middle and lower reaches of the Wairane River in Gelin County, Segon Province, southeastern Laos. The project adopts water diversion development, with power generation as the main development purpose. The power station has an installed capacity of 60 megawatts. It officially started in February 2018 and will resume in October 2020. The first unit is scheduled to be put into production before the end of May 2023.
