Ballard Power Systems’ recently announced fuel cell stack development partnership with Audi moved forward on Thursday with the signing of definitive agreements.
In a statement, Ballard said it had agreed amendments to the existing technology development agreement and a patent license agreement to expand the use of its FCgen HPS fuel cell stack in all applications, including commercial trucks and passenger cars.
The stack is designed for light, medium and heavy-duty vehicles, Ballard said.
Ballard said it holds the right to use the stack in a variety of applications, including bus, rail, marine, mining, construction and aerospace vehicles, along with stationary power applications.
