This new Shanghai base will be its second largest R&D center for Great Wall Motors.
Wei Jianjun, chairman of Great Wall Motors, said “the Jiading base will be developed relying on vigorous endeavors from enterprises and research institutions, and will be dedicated to introducing such high-tech industries as hydrogen”
Jiading Party Secretary Zhang Xi said “that the district aims to become a world leading automotive center and Great Wall will bring new technology and new ideas into the district.”
In June of this year, Jiading District issued its plan and policy for fuel-cell vehicle development. “The district hopes its annual output value of hydrogen energy and fuel-cell vehicles will exceed 50 billion yuan (US$7.1 billion) by 2025.”
