Swiss engineering group ABB has joined the European Clean Hydrogen Alliance.
Peter Terwiesch, President of ABB Industrial Automation, will be the company’s Executive Sponsor in the Alliance and will actively work with governments and other Alliance members to scale up the hydrogen value chain across Europe.
“Europe’s opportunity to reduce carbon emissions by scaling up the production, transport and use of hydrogen is significant. Automation, electrification and digitalisation will play an important role in unlocking this potential,” said Terwiesch.
“At ABB we are proud to be joining the ECH2A, to continue our collaborations with governments, industries, regulators and academia to further accelerate the implementation of hydrogen. We have a unique mix of relevant domain expertise and solutions to support industry and make a real difference in deploying new clean hydrogen technologies.”
In July 2020, the European Commission announced the EU Hydrogen Strategy and the launch of the European Clean Hydrogen Alliance.
The European Clean Hydrogen Alliance, which brings together more than 200 industry, national and local public authorities, civil society and other stakeholders, aims to initiate an investment agenda and support the scaling up of the hydrogen value chain across Europe.
