On December 14, the “Hualong One” demonstration project Fuqing Nuclear Power Unit 6 2 ring main pump motor ran smoothly for 2 hours, all parameters were within the design requirements, and the no-load test run of the unit’s main pump motor was successfully completed.
The main pump is the "heart" of the nuclear power plant. It is mainly used to drive the coolant through the reactor core and transfer the heat generated in the core to the steam generator. It is a powerful "power source" for the nuclear power plant. Extremely strict process requirements have created an extremely complex equipment structure for the main pump; the stacking of tens of thousands of parts and components is a special installation process for the main pump. The motor no-load test run is the first beating after the "heart" is in place, and it is a comprehensive pre-inspection of equipment design, manufacturing and installation quality.
