Developer Awards Contracts for Vietnam's Largest Intertidal Wind Project

The developer of the 350-MW intertidal wind project off the coast of Vietnam’s Ca Mau Province has awarded a couple of important contracts in the course of a month.

In November, the local Trading Construction Works Organization (WTO) signed an agreement under which China Gezhouba Group Company (CGGC) will take on the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) of the park. A month later, it also sealed a cross-border turbine supply agreement, Duane Morris Vietnam LLC, which advises WTO on the matter, said recently. The consultant noted that they are currently executing other key documents for the scheme.

The offshore wind park will be built in Thuan Thanh hamlet, Tan Tien commune, Dam Doi district. Once up and running, the facility will produce about 1.1 billion kWh of electricity a year.

When announcing the EPC contract separately, WTO said that the total cost of the project is estimated at more than VND 10 trillion (USD 431.3m/EUR 352m). CGGC will work on the phases 1A, 1B, 1C, 1D.
