Reported locally today, Janssen Pharmaceutica in Belgium reports great success on a well drilled for a planned geothermal heating project. We previously reported on the project that is to supply heat and cool all buildings on the company’s site by the autumn of 2021. Drilling kicked off in early December 2019.
Based on the results of the first drilling for the project at Janssen Pharmaceutica in Beerse, the company has now given the green light for the next phase of the project to use groundwater to heat and cool the buildings. “We pump 90 liters of water at 85 degrees Celsius per second. This project is very promising for other geothermal projects in the region ”, says Kris Sterkens of Janssen Pharmaceutica.
