Construction has started on the 80MW Kroningswind wind project in the Netherlands, following successful financial close.
Kroningswind, located at Goeree-Overflakkee, will feature 19 Vestas V117 wind turbines and is scheduled to produce its first electricity by the end of 2022.
Vestas will also service the turbines for 25 years.
Tinc investors and TDP shareholders own the wind farm and Eneco will purchase power under a 16-year contract.
Mott MacDonald is the lender’s technical advisor on the project to KBC Bank, Rabobank and NWB Bank.
The consultancy will monitor construction and operation of the wind park in an ongoing role.
Kroningswind is part of a growing portfolio of renewable projects that Mott MacDonald is involved with in the Netherlands, the consultancy said.
Mott MacDonald project manager Rick Janssen said: “We were really pleased to work on the Windpark Kroningswind as it will generate green electricity for the next 25 years, equivalent to the consumption of approximately 65,000 households.
“Our team of international and local inhouse consultants helped the project to achieve financial close in the challenging times posed by the Covid-19 pandemic.”
