President Shavkat Mirziyoyev became familiarized with investment projects in hydropower sector on February 22.
The program for hydropower sector development until 2021 was adopted in May 2017.
This program included 65 projects for $3.4 billion. 34 projects will support construction of new generating facilities, 31 projects will support modernization of energy facilities.
12 projects for 1,100 MW were launched. 20 projets more for 950 MW are at the final stage.
16 projects worth $1.42 billion are planned in 2021. They include construction of 11 new hydropower plants for 587 MW.
