BAM Infra Nederland has started work on the onshore substation for the Hollandse Kust North and West Alpha offshore wind farms off the coast of the Netherlands.
The work is expected to be completed by November 2023, the company said.
The substation is being built at Beverwijk on behalf of transmission system operator TenneT.
BAM Infra Nederland project manager Evert de Bie said: “We are working in a construction team together with TenneT on the design of the transformer station at an early stage.
“Together we built the Hollandse Kust Zuid transformer station on the Maasvlakte in 2019/2020.
“We use this experience and knowledge in the design and construction of the new transformer station.
“By making use of each other's expertise, we ensure a robust planning and an efficient design in which the necessary safety aspects are integrated in both construction and use phases.”
