Hydrogen Technology to Support Chemours’ Net Zero Ambitions

Global chemistry company Chemours is looking to utilise its hydrogen technology to achieve its decarbonisation goals.

In an announcement on Thursday (15th April), Chemours said it is aiming to achieve a 60% reduction of its operation-related greenhouse gas emissions by 2030, on the path to achieving net zero by 2050.

Chemours said this will be achieved by investing and supporting carbon neutral technology that will aid the fight against climate change, like its hydrogen technology which it says is at the “centre of the hydrogen economy”.

NafionTM, an ion exchange membrane, enables the scalable production of hydrogen via electrolysis and use of hydrogen as a fuel source in heavy-duty transport, passenger vehicles and material handling.

This could help support infrastructure projects by providing a fuel source for hydrogen-powered vehicles.
