Nuclear fuel for the second unit of the Belarusian nuclear power plant has been delivered, the press service of the Belarusian Energy Ministry said.
According to the source, a train carrying fuel rod arrays with fresh nuclear fuel for the second unit arrived at the Belarusian nuclear power plant site on 19 April. In line with the technical regulations specialists of the state enterprise Belarusian Nuclear Power Plant and the general contractor ASE will take care of the fuel's receipt inspection.
The fuel rod arrays will be stored in the fresh nuclear fuel storage facility until they need to be loaded into the reactor of the second unit.
The Belarusian nuclear power plant is being built near Ostrovets, Grodno Oblast using the Russian design AES-2006 featuring two VVER-1200 reactors with the total output capacity of 2,400MW.
