China Three Gorges Corporation has announced it has successfully completed 24-hour testing of the first 500kV main power transformer at the Changlongshan pumped storage power station, with the unit now ready for commissioning
The test, characterized by the variety of devices involved, multiple projects and high voltage, is crucial to the subsequent regular operation of the first 500 kV power transformer.
To ensure the successful result, a detailed power reception and transformation plan and an emergency plan with precautionary measures was developed. The test run kicked off on April 7 and strictly followed the requirements of the site commander-in-chief in operation, inspection, recording and acceptance to ensure safety, efficiency and completion.
