Hyundai said that it looks forward to working with the US government and other business partners to grow and expand the US hydrogen ecosystem.
The group is committed to fostering a hydrogen society to help support the creation of business opportunities for a sustainable future.
Hyundai Motor signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the US Department of Energy in February 2020 to cooperate in hydrogen fuel cell technology innovation and global expansion.
This saw the installation of a hydrogen refuelling station in addition to providing NEXO SUVs to the US market.
The company will proceed on demonstration projects later this year in preparation for the commercialisation of fuel cell powered electric trucks whilst also working with local partners to conduct a hydrogen refuelling demonstration project for these trucks.
Hyundai will also provide logistics between port and inland warehouses by utilising the fuel cell electric trucks.
Hyundai have also previously made an agreement with Cummins, a US based company which specialises in advanced powertrain, to accelerate deployment of fuel cell electric systems in the US market.
