Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction is to supply turbines to the 100MW Jeju Hallim offshore wind farm off South Korea.
The KRW190bn (€140m) deal will see Doosan deliver 18 5.56MW machines for the project near Hallim Port in the northwestern part of Jeju City.
A long-term maintenance contract for the turbines will be signed separately after completion, Doosan said.
The wind farm is expected to be completed in April 2024.
Doosan said the 5.56MW turbines have a blade length of 68 metres and are designed to withstand strong typhoons of up to 70 metres a second.
Jeju Hallim Offshore Wind Power Company is developing the project and comprises Korea Electric Power Corporation, Korea Midland Power, Hyundai E&C and Korea Electric Power Technology.
