G7 Plans to Announce the Goal of Halving Greenhouse Gas by 2030

The Group of Seven (G7) summit to be held in Cornwall, England in 2021 will be closed on June 13 local time. The United Kingdom, the chairman of the G7 summit, announced that it is expected to confirm the goal of roughly halving G7 countries’ greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 compared to 2010. The United Kingdom has set a goal of reducing at least 68% by 2030 compared to 1990. According to the British government, if compared with 2010, it is equivalent to a reduction of 58%. Prime Minister Johnson emphasized: "Protecting our planet is the most important thing leaders can do for their citizens."
