Vestas has secured a 372MW turbine order for a wind project in Ukraine.
The order is for the second phase of the DTEK Tiligul project, which totals 500MW in capacity, from DTEK Renewables.
The order, reported exclusively in the 3 June edition of subscriber-only reNEWS, adds to the 126MW order which Vestas received in March 2021 for the first phase.
In total, the turbine order for the 500MW DTEK Tiligul project is the largest order received by Vestas in eastern Europe, and comprises the first project in Ukraine to use the EnVentus platform.
The order for the second phase is for the supply and installation of 62 V162-6.0MW turbines installed at a hub height of 125 metres.
Commissioning of the entire wind farm is planned for the end of the third quarter of 2022.
DTEK is the largest Ukrainian national investor in renewable energy.
DTEK Renewables CEO Maris Kunickis said: “DTEK will continue to invest in clean and affordable energy to develop the renewable energy industry in Ukraine.
“Construction of a new Tiligulska wind farm will become a significant DTEK Group contribution to decarbonisation of the Ukrainian’s economy and Europe as well.”
Vestas will service both phases of the DTEK Tiligul project for 20 years.
