Enlight K2-Wind received a construction permit for its 95.5 MW Pupin wind farm. The project is an extension of the Kovačica wind farm, the second largest in the country.
The Pupin wind farm is one of the projects from the second wave of investments in wind energy in Serbia, which is expected to bring online power plants of a total installed capacity of 2.7 GW. Serbia currently has 397 MW in wind farms Čibuk 1, Kovačica, Košava 1, Alibunar, Kula, Malibunar and La Piccolina, which were built in the first wave, within a 500 MW quota allocated by the Ministry of Mining and Energy.
The wind farm will have 16 wind turbines with a total capacity of 95.5 MW
The quota also includes the Plandište wind farm, with a capacity of 102 MW, which is under construction. The Kostolac wind farm, with a capacity of 66 MW, is not within the quota.
The Pupin wind farm is an extension of the Kovačica wind farm, with a capacity of 104 MW, an investment by Israeli renewable energy company Enlight.
On the occasion of the World Wind Day, the Provincial Secretary for Energy, Construction and Transport Ognjen Bjelić visited the Kovačica wind farm, the second largest in the country, and handed over a construction permit for the Pupin wind farm.

Bjelić said Vojvodina is the leading region in Serbia in terms of the total installed capacity of newly built renewable energy facilities.
According to the permit issued by the provincial secretariat, the wind farm will comprise 16 wind generators with a total capacity of 95.5 MW. The facility will be located in the area of the village of Debeljača on the territory of the municipality of Kovačica. Bjelić said the Law on Renewable Energy Sources, adopted this year, clears the path for new investments and points the direction in which energy policy is heading.
