The 1 million tons/year ethylene and refining expansion project is about to be completed and put into production. It is estimated that this project will fuel growth of downstream industries with more than 100 billion RMB (14.1 billion US dollars) and become a new engine for regional economic development.
The social responsibility report stated that Sinopec has a comprehensive crude oil processing capacity of 9.2 million tons/year in Hainan, a production capacity of 1.6 million tons/year of aromatics, and a sales capacity of 1.6 million tons/year of refined oil products.
