Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power (KHNP) has signed a technological cooperation MOU with Canadian Nuclear Laboratories (CNL) to secure technology for spent nuclear fuel dry storage and nuclear power plant dismantlement.
CNL is Canada's leading nuclear research institute with technology for intermediate storage of spent nuclear fuel and rich experience in nuclear power plant dismantlement.
The two organizations are expected to expand the scope of cooperation into various fields, including development of long-term storage demonstration technology, which is a government task being carried out by KHNP.
The MOU was signed in a metaverse space, a three-dimensional virtual world. KHNP created a virtual conference hall in the metaverse space, where avatars of participants from the two organizations signed the MOU.
