Tekmar Group Plc (LON:TGP) on Wednesday said it has secured a contract to supply cable protection systems (CPS) for the 257-MW Arcadis Ost 1 offshore wind project in Germany.
The contract comes from Aberdeen-based Global Offshore, part of Global Marine Group, which has been contracted to install and bury 27 array cables at the offshore wind farm project.
Tekmar said it will design, produce and supply its latest generation of TekTube CPS, which will protect the array cables as they move from the seabed into the turbine foundations. The company will manufacture the CPS at its facility in the northeast of England and deliver them to its customer in 2022.
Arcadis Ost 1, developed by Parkwind Ost GmbH, will be located in the German Baltic Sea, northeast of the island of Ruegen. Vestas Wind Systems A/S (CPH:VWS) will supply 27 pieces of its V174-9.5 MW turbines for the wind park. Offshore installation of the project is expected to begin by the end of 2022, with completion seen in 2023.
