Argentine developer YPF Luz has started commercial operations at its 123MW Canadon Leon wind farm in the north-west province of Santa Cruz, Argentina.
YPF Luz said it invested approximately $180m to build the wind farm.
Canadon Leon features 29 GE 4.2MW turbines.
The project will supply electricity to the equivalent needs of 150,000 homes and save 312,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide a year, the company said.
Canadon Leon is YPF Luz's third wind farm, after the Manantiales Behr in Chubut, which has been operating since 2018, and Los Teros, which was launched in 2020 and located in Azul.
