Under the contract, Nordex will deliver 23 of its N163/5.X wind turbines from the Delta4000 series for the San Juan de Marcona wind farm.
The wind facility is being developed near the coastal town of San Juan de Marcona in south-western Peru.
The turbines delivered by Nordex will have a rotor diameter of 163m and will be built on tubular steel towers with a hub height of 148m.
Nordex Group plans to commission the wind turbines by the end of next year.
Acciona Energía will be responsible for the transportation and construction of the plants at the site.
The project will be Acciona Energía’s first in Peru.
Earlier this year, Acciona Energía announced that it will invest $180m in the San Juan de Marcona wind farm in the country’s Ica region.
The wind facility will be linked to Peru’s National Interconnected Electric System (SEIN) through a 33km 220kV transmission line, which will be built as part of the project.
ACCIONA Energía said that the wind facility will have the capacity to generate 608GWh of clean energy a year, which will be enough to meet the power requirements of 478,000 households.
The project is also estimated to offset around 275,000 tonnes of carbon emission a year.
It will be Nordex Group’s third order in Peru.
Construction of the project is due to begin this month, with the wind farm expected to come online by the end of next year.
In 2018, the company completed Peru’s first wind farm, which has 132MW of capacity.
Another wind facility with 177MW is currently being developed in the country.
