Russian satellite news agency, Moscow, December 26 - Alexei Likachev, general manager of the Russian Atomic Energy Group, said that the International Dispute Settlement Commission had rejected the financial claim filed by Finland against the group for the "Hanhikivi" nuclear power plant (Hanhikivi). The construction contract of the plant was terminated by Helsinki this year.
Likhachov said in an interview with the News: "The customer has terminated the contract, and the first wave of litigation has ended. The International Arbitration Court, which is composed entirely of representatives of Western European countries, has made a clear award. First, the financial claim of Finland has been rejected."
He added: "Secondly, a clear ruling was made that the contract was illegally terminated."
