Agence Agency Abu Dhabi, December 24, 2022, today, the United Arab Emirates announced that it would deliver about 2500 household generators to civilians affected by the ongoing crisis in Ukraine. The crisis destroyed the energy infrastructure and caused power outages in order to help them survive the cold winter.
The assistance included 2500 domestic generators, each with a power of 3.5-8 kilowatts. These generators can help civilians get some of the electricity they need and help families affected by the crisis improve their living conditions.
The Minister of State for International Cooperation, Rembit Ibrahim Hashimi, said that the provision of such assistance to Ukraine stems from the United Arab Emirates' conviction of the importance of human solidarity, especially in conflict situations. The crisis in Ukraine is part of the country's ongoing efforts to mitigate the humanitarian impact.
Today, the United Arab Emirates will transport about 1200 domestic generators to Warsaw, the capital of Poland, and the remaining generators will be completed by January next year.
This support comes from the United Arab Emirates for humanitarian relief assistance of US $100 million, which is provided to civilians affected by the crisis in Ukraine.
As a response to the United Nations Emergency Appeal for Ukraine and the refugees in Ukraine, since the outbreak of the crisis, the United Arab Emirates has taken the initiative to alleviate the suffering of the victims, sending eight planes to deliver 360 tons of food and medical aid, as well as Ukrainian refugees in Poland, Moldova and Bulgaria.
