Kent County Council (KCC) in England announced the acquisition of the Bowerhouse II Solar Farm built by Ethical Power Ltd.
Spanning an area of 38 hectares, this solar farm comprises 39,000 bifacial solar modules and can supply 22,000 MWh of solar electricity to the grid per year. It contributes to about 30% of KCC's net zero carbon reduction target by cutting down 6,000 tonnes of carbon emissions annually.
Now the solar farm is operated by LASER Energy, part of KCC's Commercial Services Group. LASER Energy has appointed asset manager Amberside Energy to manage its interests at the site.
"Bowerhouse II solar park is a significant and important step for Kent County Council to achieve their net zero goals. Amberside Energy leverages big data tools and techniques to carry out proactive asset management for the solar farm for greater stability and generation efficiency while complying with industry standards.
