It will be installed in Coca-Cola Al Ahlia’s facility in Al Ain.
Emerge, a joint venture between the Masdar and EDF, and Coca-Cola Al Ahlia Beverages, the bottler and distributor of Coca-Cola in the UAE, have partnered for the development of a 1.8-megawatt (MWp) solar photovoltaic plant for food and beverage firm.
In a statement, Masdar said the project to be installed at Coca-Cola’s facility in Al Ain will be a combination of ground-mounted, rooftop, and carpark installations.
Emere will be handling the plant from design, procurement, and construction to operation and maintenance for 25 years.
“This is a significant milestone for us as we continue to drive and embrace innovation in every part of our business while reducing our carbon footprint. Our agreement with Emerge will allow us to reach yet another sustainability milestone - a big aspect of which is the integration of more renewable energy into our operations,” said Coca-Cola Al Ahlia Beverages CEO Mohamed Akeel.
