Bruce Power today announced a $20,000 donation to the Canadian Red Cross for emergency relief in Türkiye and Syria, while encouraging its employees, and other local businesses and community members to consider supporting this effort.
The Red Cross is delivering emergency relief to those impacted by the magnitude 7.8 and 7.6 earthquakes that hit the region on Feb. 6. The money raised will allow the Red Cross to provide relief and support recovery efforts, resiliency, and preparedness activities in Türkiye, Syria and surrounding areas.
“Bruce Power recognizes the tireless work of the Red Cross and other international relief organizations as they provide critical support to the people of Türkiye and Syria after these devastating earthquakes,” said Pat Dalzell, Bruce Power’s Head of Corporate Affairs. “The Red Cross, and organizations like these, have selflessly committed to helping those in need around the world. If you’re able, we hope you can join us in donating to these important groups.”
The government of Canada will match donations from individuals to the Earthquake in Türkiye and Syria Appeal, up to a maximum of $10 million.
