Siemens Gamesa has signed three contracts to supply turbine orders worth 359MW to undisclosed customers in Chile.
The agreements cover the installation and commissioning of 82 SG 4.5-145 turbines, with flexible power ratings, as well as provide operation and maintenance services of up to 15 years to some of the projects. Installation of the turbines is scheduled for 2020.
With the latest agreements Siemens Gamesa has set a record high of 640MW of orders in Chile for the fiscal year ending 30 September.
Siemens Gamesa Latam onshore managing director Jorge Lobaton said: “We are very pleased to extend our regional leadership to Chile, where we have closed our strongest year ever.
“The Siemens Gamesa 4.X platform has been instrumental to cement that leadership as it is a perfect fit for the local market, significantly contributing to improving our customers’ business cases.”
According to ACERA, the Chilean renewable energy association, the country has an installed capacity of 5659 MW of renewable energy, including around 1932 MW of wind power, or 7.7% of the total energy mix.
