Emmvee Group is all set to have a new solar cell & module manufacturing facility at Dabaspet. The groundbreaking ceremony is the official kickstart of phase 2 of the capacity expansion of 1.50 GW solar cell line and 1.75 GW of module manufacturing facility construction.
Bengaluru-based Emmvee Group is all set to have a new solar cell & module manufacturing facility at Dabaspet. Spread across 500,000 square feet, the facility will be the most advanced and fully-automated production line.
It would strategically be constructed beside the company’s current 750MW module manufacturing facility to ensure operational excellence and control.
Earlier this year, the company revealed its plans to increase its module manufacturing capacity to 3 GW by adding new units, including a 1.50 GW solar cell line.
The facility will add a new feather to Emmvee’s cap as it happens to be the official kickstart of phase 2 of capacity expansion of a 1.50 GW solar cell line and 1.75 GW of module manufacturing facility construction. The module and cell facilities are expected to commence operation in June 2023 and early 2024 respectively.
“With this integrated manufacturing facility, we would have stronger control over our supply chain providing the latest technology that meets global standards and requirements. With the start of construction of our new facility, Emmvee will continue to fulfil the increasing demand and support its customers in business continuity by timely execution of supply,” said D.V. Manjunatha, Managing Director, Emmvee Group of Companies.
“The expansion of capacity is under INR 1,000 Crore MoU, recently signed with the Government of Karnataka. The new solar cell and module line facility is a testament of Emmvee’s reputation as a global player in manufacturing and supplying of high quality and efficient solar PV modules,” added Suhas Donthi, Group Director, Emmvee Group of Companies.
Emmvee Group was recently in the news for making Europe’s largest solar research institute Fraunhofer ISE the solar technology partner for this facility. An MoU was signed between the companies for the entire project timeline which spans more than 36 months.
