It is located at Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi on Yas Island.
Emerge, a joint venture between Masdar and EDF, has developed the largest rooftop solar project in Abu Dhabi at Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi, with a total capacity of seven megawatt-peak (MWp).
In a statement, they said the project makes Warner Bros the largest solar-powered theme park in the region.
The solar project is composed of around 16,000 solar modules across its roof area of 36,000 square metres and can produce electricity that can meet almost 40% of its annual energy demand.
The project will also support the United Arab Emirates’ target to have renewable energy account for 44% of its clean energy mix by 2050. Rooftop solar is expected to comprise 6% of the country’s total power generation by 2030, according to the International Renewable Energy Agency.
