The project will be located in the city of Solapur.
Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited was granted a letter of award by the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company to develop a 200-megawatt solar project in the Indian state.
In a statement, Tata Power said the project located in Solapur, Maharashtra is expected to start operations within 18 months from the execution of a power purchase agreement.
It added that the project will cut around 432.94 million kilograms of carbon dioxide admissions annually.
The project raises the company’s total renewables capacity to 6,503 megawatts (MW), 3,909MW of which have been installed and 2,594MW are still being developed.
