The webinar will feature Dr. Gemma Mitjanas Colls, who will present her study on the 3D geothermal model of the Cuenca del Vallès in Catalonia, Spain. The Cuenca del Vallès, located in the northeast of the Iberian Peninsula, presents thermal anomalies in the form of thermal springs in the cities of Caldes de Montbui and La Garriga.
The study carried out by Dr. Mitjanas Colls integrates different geoscientific techniques, including geophysical, geological, petrophysical and hydrogeological studies, to define the geothermal resources of the non-magmatic convective system and highlight their applications for the local community.
During the webinar, the application of techniques such as magnetotellurics, gravity, passive seismicity and electrical resistivity tomography will be presented, as well as the integration of these data into Seequent’s Leapfrog Geothermal software . The webinar is designed to provide a deeper insight into geophysical exploration in non-magmatic convective geothermal systems and offer insight into the latest tools and technologies available.
Attendees will have the opportunity to interact with Seequent experts such as Vaiva Cypaite and Dr. Mitjanas Colls during a question and answer session. This event is a unique opportunity to learn more about geophysical exploration and how it can be applied in the exploration and development of non-magmatic convective geothermal systems.
