Siemens Gamesa Charters Hst Marine’s CTVs

The UK-based High-Speed Transfers (HST) Marine has signed multiple charter agreements with wind turbine manufacturer Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy (SGRE).
HST Marine has secured two charters, for both medium and long-term with SGRE in the North Sea.

These will be undertaken by the DAMEN 2710, HST Sofia, and the Chartwell 24-H, HST Frances, with the vessels now already on site and working, said the owner.

HST Sofia, which entered the waters back in 2019, is able to accommodate 26 passengers, twice more than the previous FCS 2610 design, and to operate in wave heights of more than two metres due to an extra metre of freeboard.

HST Marine took delivery of its UK-built hybrid-electric CTV HST Frances in February this year. The vessel can carry 12-24 industrial personnel, and its hybrid electric propulsion system cuts fuel consumption by 30 per cent compared to similar CTVs compared by diesel engines, according to the owner.

The CTV was designed by UK naval architect Chartwell Marine and built at UK shipbuilder Diverse Marine on the Isle of Wight.

HST Marine was acquired by Purus Marine in 2022 which provides CTV and commissioning/service operation vessels (C/SOVs) to its customers and will also be expanding its fleet of hybrid C/SOVs.

In January, the company ordered four StratCat 27 CTVs from Strategic Marine, a shipbuilding company based in Singapore.
