The study tour was part of the Geothermal Energy: Capacity Building for Utilisation, Investment and Local Development (GEOBUILD) programme under the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS). Members from the beneficiary member states of Grenada, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, and St. Kitts and Nevis were part of the study tour held from 3 to 5 April 2023.
The team was given a detailed presentation on the geothermal development project in Roseau Valley, Dominica. This was followed by a tour led by the Dominica Geothermal Development Company (DGDC) to the sites of the three production wells and the drilling site of the reinjection well. Participants were able to observe the ongoing preparations for the flow test of production well RV-P2 (flow testing has since started).

The project is consistent with the overall aim of the OECS to promote cooperation among the Member States at the regional and international levels. GEOBUILD is funded by the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) with a grant of US$3.1 Million with funding support from the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and the European Union Caribbean Investment Facility.
