The program is the result of a collaboration and research agreement between Iceland Resources ehf., a wholly owned subsidiary of St-Georges Eco-Mining, and a local energy produced located on the Reykjanes license area.
The highlights of the results include up to 12.65% copper, more than 30% zinc (beyond lab threshold), up to 353 g/t gold, and up to 5,960 g/t silver. A total of 26 samples were collected from scales formed within the casing of several production wells and in settling ponds where overflow effluent is collected.
“The results of this sampling highlight the significant values in base and precious metals generated within Iceland’s geothermal system. There is great potential for similar mineral concentrations in other currently active and fossil systems scattered throughout Iceland. This discovery reaffirms Iceland Resources’ business plan,” said Thordis Bjork Sigurbjornsdottir, CEO of Iceland Resources.
Frank Dumas, COO of St-Georges, further noted that the remaining samples in the Quebec facility will be processed to develop a flow sheet for metallurgical recovery.
