Following on from the order for the Kriegers Flak project, EEW SPC manufactured another 41 monopiles for Vattenfall. Each monopile is 77 metres long and weighs around 622 tonnes.
EEW SPC received an order from Vattenfall to produce monopiles for both offshore wind farms in November 2021.
DEME Offshore was chosen to transport and install the monopile foundations at the Vesterhav Syd and Vesterhav Nord in the Danish North Sea.
Bladt Industries provided the transition pieces while the foundations will support Siemens Gamesa 8.4 MW wind turbines which Jan De Nul will install.
The monopiles and TPs will be installed at the project sites, located 10 kilometres off the west coast of Jutland near Thyborøn (Nord) and Søndervig (Syd), by DEME Group and its jack-up vessel Innovation. Earlier this year, DEME signed a contract with the Port of Thyboron to use the port for the work.
Once fully commissioned, the wind farms will produce enough electricity to supply 350,000 Danish homes in total.
