The Wind Multiplikator Group is focused on activities related to offshore wind operations and maintenance (O&M), including major component exchanges (MCE) and repairs (MCR). It has 250 employees based in Bremen and an operational centre in Emden, at the service hub for North Sea offshore wind farms.
According to an announcement on Wednesday, the combined service business of the companies will have 455 employees operating across the whole offshore wind service value chain.
“This partnership marks an important milestone in our Sustainable Growth strategy and the efforts to shift the balance towards our Renewables business and deliver more integrated services,” said Semco Maritime chief executive Steen Brodbaek.
Semco Maritime is seeking to leverage opportunities in the offshore wind market, which is forecast to quadruple by 2030.
Wind Multiplikator Group will be branded "Wind Multiplikator powered by Semco Maritime" after the deal. The companies are not disclosing financial details.
