The new geothermal doublet is expected to come into production by September 2024. This will allow SEER to supply 65% renewable energy to an additional 8,000 homes in the SEER network, and more than 20,000 equivalent housing homes by the end of 2024.
We had first reported on the start of drilling of the second doublet at the start of 2023. Prior to this, SEER had already drilled a first doublet that had been supplying geothermal heat to the geothermal heating network Grigny and Viry Chatillon. This was inaugurated back in 2018.
