With the geothermal heating plant in Kolo, Poland soon to be commissioned, the city council has decided to allocate an additional investment of 110,000 zlotys (approx. USD 26,500) to evaluate the feasibility of supplying thermal waters to the municipal swimming pool and outdoor swimming pools.

“Thermal pools can become another attraction and a place to relax in our city,” said Mayor Krzysztof Witkowski. “What we have been thinking about for almost 30 years can become a reality.”

The city is set to start the feasibility study that will help determine the possibilities of using thermal waters for swimming pools and balneology and the schedule of the design and implementation process. The study will also determine an estimated cost of the investment and the options for financing the project from external funds.

In late 2022, we reported on the Kolo geothermal project signing a contract for the construction of the geothermal heating plant. This followed previous developments on the project such as the drilling of a second well with a target depth of 3050 meters.
