Ukrhydroenergo has inked a Memorandum of Collaboration with GE Vernova's Hydro Power business that will see the companies collaborate on the restoration and rejuvenation of Ukrainian hydropower facilities, with a particular emphasis on the critical Kakhovka hydropower Pplant.
The Memorandum signing ceremony witnessed the participation of key representatives from both entities. Mr. Ihor Syrota, the Director General of Ukrhydroenergo, expressed his gratitude to his colleagues for their unwavering support during challenging times and conveyed his optimism about establishing a close and fruitful cooperation.
Addressing the gathering, Mr. Syrota stated: "Your company and the equipment you produce are known in the world. We visited your production facilities several times and were impressed by the level of technology and the expertise of your team. Unfortunately, the missile strikes by the enemy have damaged a lot of our electrical equipment. We will be glad to see you as our partners with regard to the restoration of the Kakhovka Hydro Power Plant and other facilities that were damaged by russian missiles. I invite you to a dynamic cooperation as by the end of the year we are supposed to have a clear plan for the implementation of works."
In response, GE Vernova's Hydro Power CEO, Frederic Ribieras, conveyed the firm's commitment to actively participate in the reconstruction of Ukraine's hydropower industry.
" We are proud of this collaboration we are initiating with Ukrhydroenergo. These facilities are critical to powering Ukrainian houses, schools, hospitals and businesses with clean and reliable electricity,” Mr. Ribieras affirmed.
