Registration is open for “Geothermal Drilling: Combining Oil and Gas Technology with Geothermal Knowledge.” This will be a two-day course on geothermal drilling taking place on 11-12 October 2023 at the NH Collection Bogota Teleport Royal in Bogota, Colombia.
Registration for the course can be done via this link.
The course is part of the international training program of the International Geothermal Association (IGA), in alliance with the Colombian Geothermal Association (AGEOCOL). Our Spanish language platform, PiensaGeotermia, is proud to be the official communications partner for the course. More information will be provided soon with all the details.
About the course
“Geothermal Drilling: Combining Oil and Gas Technology with Geothermal Knowledge” will feature Sam Abraham, an industry expert with extensive experience in geothermal drilling in various countries, including Kenya, Indonesia, New Zealand, Turkey, the United States and the Caribbean. His experience in both sectors, Oil and Gas and Geothermal, aims to transfer his knowledge of the synergies between the two sectors.
“Latin America is on the rise and Colombia is leading the way. We joined forces with the Colombian Geothermal Association (AGEOCOL) to organize this first training course in Bogotá on geothermal drilling. I hope to see many of you in beautiful Colombia. Do not miss it!” – Marit Brommer, CEO of IGA.
“We are very happy to support the realization of this geothermal drilling course. This course offers an invaluable opportunity to acquire essential knowledge and skills in geothermal drilling and contribute to the energy future in Colombia. And don’t forget there are special discounts for AGEOCOL members!” – Daniela Blessent, President of AGEOCOL
“The idea of ??the course arose during RENAG 2022 in Manizales, Colombia . Colombia was selected to host this course due to its more than 100 years of experience in the hydrocarbon industry and its notable geothermal potential, making it the outstanding choice of the International Geothermal Association (IGA). In this sense, Bogotá, strategically located in the Latin American region, becomes the ideal epicenter to merge technology and knowledge of the hydrocarbon and geothermal sectors ,” highlighted Oscar Llamosa, Member of the IGA Board of Directors for the Latin American region.
